Surroundings
The Raval quarter is located between the left side of the Eixample and the Gótico quarters. It is one of the quarters with more changes in the last years, going from a very popular neighbourhood to a dynamic area where restorers, designers, architects and artists have chosen it a place to settle, making the quarter one of the most dynamic, trendy and multi-ethnical ones of the city, yet without losing its popular charm.

The Museum of Contemporary Art (MACBA), the Centre of Contemporary Culture (CCCB), and the Universities have eased the change of a marginal area to a cosmopolitan one, becoming a reference for all the city.

In the Raval the old and the modern blend naturally; for this we can see how the neighbourhood enjoys all type of facilities, from the most modern ones to the lifelong stores –the great markets of the Boquería or Sant Antoni.
